名立たる大御所と競演する、
木・金管楽器の素晴らしいプレイヤーである。
元 IRAKERE メンバー。
現在、キューバにおいて
数々の Jazz イベントをオーガナイズしているようである。
Temperamento のリーダーなのであろうと思う。
ロベルト・フォンセカに このサイト立ち上げについて話したら、
「彼と相談してくれ」と言われた。
どうやらロベルト・フォンセカの プロデューサー的存在らしい。
そーよね、２０歳そこそこの男の子が １本立ちして活躍した裏には
後ろ盾となるこの人の存在があった
ということなのだろう。

びっくりびっくりびっくりすごいドラマーである。
"ロベルト・フォンセカのバンド"
とだけ思って行くと、
彼のかっこい〜いドラミング・テクニックに
ノックアウトされてしまう。
とてもドラマティックな演奏をする。
"Ritmos de Cuba, percusión y batería,"
という著作物もあるらしい。
いや、ホントすごい人です。
YUSA などのアルバムでも演奏している。

たいていのバヒスタがそうであるように地味で目立たないのだけど、
ロベルトフォンセカと目を見合わせ、
宝物を抱えるようにコントラバッホを抱き、
うれしそうに弦をはじく。
なんだか、観ていてホッとする人です。

ただ今調査中ですが、お父さん Emilio del Monte と同じく
Cubanismo でプレイしているかもしれない。
精力的に多くのミュージッシャンのレコーディングに参加していて、
Rey Guerra, YUSA, Emiliano Salvador や Koch-Schütz-Studer
などのキューバ国内外ミュージッシャン、また、在カナダキューバ人で
現在日本長期滞在中の Alex Cuba Band のＣＤでも演奏している。
面白いところでは、"Buena Vista : The Next Generation" という
BVSC ミュージッシャンの子や孫が会して作ったＣＤにも参加。
そんなに稼いでいるはずなのに、、、
ヒッチハイクしているらしき姿を目撃したことがある。
私がじろじろ見ていたのに気付くと道を渡って
（それまで中央分離帯のヒッチハイクエリアにいた）
乗り合いバス（乗り合いタクシーとも路線バスとも違う）
乗り場に移動していった。

もしかして勝手に来て叩いちゃってるのか？？なんてね。
２００２年にはティンバレスがいなくて、コンガもいなかったような？
たまたま？
２００３年には別のおじいさんティンバレスがいたような？
記憶が定かではないのですが。。
でも、ロベルト・フォンセカの１枚目のアルバムから参加してます。
控えるべきところでよくちゃんと控えていられるなって感心しちゃうほど
ノリノリの独り舞台に興じるエミリオおじちゃん。
楽しそーーーに、自分のソロ演奏に大喜びで飛び跳ねちゃったりする
お茶目なオヤジである。
隣でコンガを演奏する Emilio del Monte Jr. は、
この親父と一緒に演奏することをどう感じているのだろう？
私だったら恥ずかしいかもー。
でも、彼にとっては誇りの親父なのかもしれない。

Unique Book on Cuban Percussion Presented in Cuba

Havana, (PL) The book "Ritmos de Cuba, percusión y batería," (Rhythms of Cuba, Percussion and Drum Kit) by Cuban musician Ruy Lopez-Nussa, was presented in Pabexpo, western Havana, exhibition site of Cubadisco 2004 Fair, the most important music fair in Cuba.
According to Cuban researcher Lino Neira in the introduction, "the book is a complete tool that helps overcome the obstacles world percussionists and drummers face in Cuban percussion."
Even innovator-composer Igor Stravinsky, author of "The Rite of Spring," came to learn about the "batá" drums in Cuba and was brought by Ernesto Lecuona and Felix Guerrero to ritual ceremonies somewhere in Havana, possibly Guanabacoa, Lecuona's birthplace.
To the clamor of the conga performance, the Russian musician took pen and paper and tried to score the endless universe of the sounds, but "it is impossible," he stated, "these sounds are so rich they escape writing."

Son of a Cuban father and Polish-French mother, Ruy Lopez-Nussa is a white musician who got caught up by this phenomenon.
With the help of the Spanish Authors and Publishers Society (SGAE) Fundacion Autor, he was able to finish a book that will surely be a best-seller, a must-have for percussionists.
The author submerges himself in the rumba complex, passing through yambú, columbia and guaguancó, to give us this book with scores and a disc of the different playing techniques.
"I also included the drum kit, a 20th-century instrument with an important role, whose worldwide relevance has branded this period "the century of percussion," he concluded.
